
1851 - The congregation was organized by Pastor Sager. The exact date is unknown but is generally believed to have occurred about June, 1851.
1859 - The 9th assembly of the First Evangelical Lutheran Synod in Texas met in Meyersville.
1866 - The cornerstone for the Old Stone Church was laid.
1867 - The Old Stone Church was dedicated during the 15th annual synodical convention, May 3-9.
1869 - The Log Church of 1850 was dismantled and sold at auction.
1882 - The thirtieth synodical convention was held in Meyersville, April 30 - May 4.
1895 - The Ladies Aid was formed.
1896 - The Old Stone Church was renovated. The church was rededicated on June 1 with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Meyersville, the 40th anniversary of membership in the old independent synod, and the 30th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of the Old Stone Church.
1904 - The Sunday School was organized. Before this there was a Saturday school.
1916 - The young people organize. THis later became the Luther League.
1920 - The cornerstone for the present church was laid.
1921 - The last regular service in the Old Stone Church was held on May 13. The present church was dedicated on July 20.
1951 - A motion was made to dismantle the Old Stone Church if or when it became necessary. The congregation centennial was celebrated September 30 - October 7.
1957 - A motion was passed to accept pledges to restore the Old Stone Church.
1958 - The motion of 1951 was rescinded and the Old Stone Church was restored and then rededicated on October 26.
1959 - The Parish House was dedicated on August 1. Pastor Arhelger appointed six members to form the Old Stone Church Restoration Committee in January.
1962 - The Texas Historical Building Medallion was awarded to the Old Stone Church. This was the first building in DeWitt County to receive this medallion.
1965 - A plate was added to the medallion and the church became recorded as a Texas Historical Landmark.
1968 - The Thirteenth Texas Restoration award was presented to the Old Stone Church by the DeWitt County Historical Commission.
1976 - St. John 125th Anniversary celebration.
1989 - More restoration work began on the Old Stone Church.
1990 - Old Stone Church restoration was completed. A constitution was adopted by the Restoration Committee now known as the Old Stone Church Historical Committee.
1991 - We celebrate homecoming and rededication together with the 125th anniversary of the laying of the cornerstone of the Old Stone Church in 1866 and the 140th anniversary of the congregational organization in 1851.
1997 - We welcome Elizabeth Hanley as the first Intern to serve at St. John.
